High Resolution Synthetic Aperture Radar Image Interpretation System

The high-resolution SAR image interpretation system developed by the Aerospace Information Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences in recent years has been widely used in many military and civilian industries.

The high-resolution SAR image interpretation system, based on the framework of the Digital Earth (Fig. 1.), has the capability to organize and manage massive high-resolution SAR data with characteristics of multi-resolution, multi-polarization, multi-band as well as other types of data,and it builds a set of standardized large-scale SAR sample data sets and target characteristics knowledge base (Fig. 2.) combining with SAR imaging mechanism, which provides effective support for intelligent interpretation of SAR images.

The high-resolution SAR image interpretation system provides intelligent services for different types of SAR images (Fig. 3.), integrates full-process algorithm plug-ins such as feature calculation, target extraction, and element classification (Fig. 4 and Fig. 5.), and can support multiple typical scene applications, including large-scale sea area ship target search, large-scale fixed facility movable target dynamic monitoring, SAR feature element refined classification, etc., and support human-machine coordinated interpretation interaction and result confirmation.
